Backpacks of Hope: Giving Essentials to the Homeless

At Heart, Love & Soul, our mission is to serve those most in need, and this week, our focus has been on outreach and conducting the annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count. This important initiative helps us better understand the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness in our community and ensures resources are directed where they are needed most.

One of the ways we provide support is through our Outreach Backpack Program. These backpacks are filled with essential items to help individuals facing the harsh realities of homelessness, particularly during the colder months. Our team distributes them directly to those in need, offering warmth, hygiene essentials, and a reminder that they are not alone.

How You Can Help

We are currently seeking donations to fill these backpacks with the following items:

• • Winter Accessories: Hat, gloves, scarf, and pairs of socks

• • Hygiene Essentials: Toothbrushes & toothpaste, deodorant, soap, washcloths, chapstick, lotion, and combs or brushes

• • Cold Weather Aids: Hand & foot warmers, tissues, and blankets 

• • Basic Necessities: Snacks,  bottles of water, and flashlights

• • Additional Items: Notepads, pens

Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference in someone’s life. A warm pair of socks, a nourishing snack, or a flashlight can provide comfort and security to someone living on the streets.
