Our Annual Recognition Dinner came a little earlier this year—friends on our mailing list heard the news back in February that the event would be held in June. And now, we’re thrilled to share that every seat has been filled!
This overwhelming show of support is a true testament to the strength and generosity of our community. To everyone who reserved a seat, lent a hand, donated an item, or helped spread the word—thank you.

The Fund-a-Need Campaign Is Live—And It’s All for Angelo
One of the most meaningful parts of our Annual Dinner is the Fund-a-Need campaign, and this year, we’re honoring a man who turned nickels and dimes into hope for thousands: Angelo Sarkees.
Through his grassroots nonprofit, Deposits 4 Food, Angelo raised over $110,000 for local food pantries—including ours—by collecting and recycling cans, bottles, and scrap metal. He passed away this June, but his legacy of compassion lives on.
The Fund-a-Need campaign is now live on our website, and every dollar makes a difference. We’ve even added a few giving tiers inspired by Angelo’s creative fundraising spirit—whether you’re giving a “Bag of Bottles” or an “Overflowing Cart,” your gift carries forward the mission he held so close to his heart.

For his unwavering dedication and compassionate presence in our dining room and community. Originally from Tennessee, Billy has been a quiet yet constant presence at Heart, Love & Soul for years—always ready to lend a hand, whether it’s unloading a delivery or helping someone get groceries to their car. His acts of kindness come without fanfare, rooted in humility, love, and a deep respect for others—qualities that truly reflect the spirit of our mission.
Frances Ficorilli Volunteer Award – Dorothy Haungs
A joyful, faithful Thursday volunteer whose quiet commitment speaks volumes. Dorothy began volunteering just six months after retiring from a career in special education, bringing with her a philosophy of treating every person with dignity and respect. Her warmth, consistency, and deep compassion have made her a beloved presence in our pantry for nearly 15 years.
Partner in Ministry Award – Mr. Joe Cecconi and Cecconi’s Chrysler Complex
For their steadfast partnership and generous support of our work and mission. A fixture in Western New York for over five decades, Joe Cecconi’s Chrysler Complex lives out its motto—“We’ll treat you like family”—through generous support of nonprofits like Heart, Love & Soul. Their commitment to uplifting the most vulnerable in our region is deeply felt and sincerely appreciated.
